Value does not fall within the expected range

description

Doesn't seem to matter what site or parmaters I use, I always get the following errror. Any ideas?

Unhandled Exception: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.
at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFieldCollection.GetField(String strName, Boolean bThrowException)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPListItem.GetValue(String strName, Boolean bThrowException)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPListItem.GetValue(String strName)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPListItem.get_Item(String fieldName)
at UserProfileSync.Program.Main(String[] args)

The debug output from VS shows:

The program '[43112] UserProfileSync.exe: Managed' has exited with code -532459699 (0xe0434f4d).

Please don't lose sight of this project. This is a sorely needed utility and it's hard to fathom why very few MOSS pros seem to avoid talking about, or providing a solution for, what is obviously a very painful bug. Perhaps only a few porr unfortunates are affected by it??

In our case the sites for which synching does not occur all contain NULL data in the 'SiteSynch' table within the SSP content database. Additionally we receive a nightly error which informs that:

"The site with ID {ID} cannot be synchronised due to an unprovisioned root site"! OWSTIMER.EXE | (0x0770) | 0x1084 | SharePoint Portal Server | User Profiles | 792c

Any update on this issue?
I'm also having the same error - was kind of trying this as a last resort. As nothing else making my site collection user properties to sync to the SSP. :-(

D:\Deployed\UserProfileSync>UserProfileSync.exe -url http://site-collection-url -ssp http://ssp-uat/ssp/admin -d Dry run mode. No changes will be committed.
